TUNE - TUNE - Play the TUNE Man - play the Tune!
This is one of my favourite designs and my daughter took this one too! Tune, my faithful tee infused with the designs from the 1970s. The music was pumping, the disco ball was spinning, and the fashion was, well, let's just say it was different. But we loved it!
My take was the platforms and anything flared, sequinned alongside questionable hair styles. It was a time of funky beats, and I would go along with the jazz-funk crews, but I erred of the side of solid funk. Got called “crufty” for it didn’t care - loved it and would flaunt that I was crufty!
Crufty or not, the sounds of Brass Construction or Rick James, I hurried to the dance floor to strut my stuff. So, you know when the DJ teases the song from the double decks (certain age group here), you’re shouting at the DJ,
’Look man, just play the TUNE, play the TUNE!’
Some DJs just like the sound of their own voice or they play the music for themselves!’.
Now the alldayers and weekenders are making a come back. I have yet to go to one, but when we partied it was like an alldayer and it was seriously about dancing to hot tunes throughout the night.
So, as we embrace the return of the alldayers and the resurgence of 1970s vibes, raise a glass to the music that never goes out of style and the fashion, that never ceases to amuse. And with the Tune t-shirt, you’ll feel right at home with its terracotta hues.
