Decorative Carnival Art Signs - Guyana

When it comes to family, they have been my biggest inspiration, judges and critics.

The Guyana carnival sign, was designed with my sister in mind who requested an item to rep the Guyanese flag - and designing for your family is - well like!

Mum - biggest supporter of anything I produce

Brothers - one will say - politely - can I make a suggestion, the other brother will tell it as it is “it’s rubbish”- no feelings spared!

Sister - will say “it’s okay”

Daughter - will say - “emmn -  I’m not feeling it right now”

Not that I’m discounting the compliments from my mum, other siblings and offspring, but when Mr Tell It As It Is - No feelings spared brother says he likes something and has the items in his apartment, that’s like drinking coconut water at the beach, substitute if coconut water is not your ideal drink at the beach!

My other brother was a strong supporter for the first wooden street signs I sold at Portobello Road Market,. It was my mum I had in mind when the wooden Wotless Street signs were created.

Scenario:
Mum opens football kit bag, turns out, the mud had dried, caked and baked on the kit and the boots are in the bag too!

Conversation:
Mum calls out my brother’s name twice, holding the bag “this is wotlessness, shrieks “S-H-E-E-R wotlessness” somehow believing the stretching and emphasising of the word sheer would clean the kit quicker! 

No shrieks from me , but  it does make me chuckle, thinking about the scene, when I’ve had to pull a half dried swimming costume from my daughter’s school bag. No contest with mud, but it still made me chuckle.

This sign is best used indoors and for decorative purposes. If to be used outside - hang in a shaded area and further protect the sign with a UV resistant spray that can be ordered online or bought from a hardware/DIY store.

The sign comes with pre-drilled holes in each corner ideal for nails, screws, and even drawing pins. Alternatively, place on a small easel or use S hooks and hang the sign independently to make a great feature and focal point. The surface can be jazzed up by applying magnetic items to its stainless steel surface.

The signs are crafted in the UK and printed on recycled steel.
